Homemade bread is most excellent, and I've loved making it in my bread machine and serving it to my family. It tends to produce some bits and pieces though that aren't great to eat, like extra hard crust in spots or a piece or two becomes to dry to really enjoy. So, I pop all those pieces in the food processor (still my absolute favorite kitchen appliance!) and voila - homemade, no nasty ingredients, bread crumbs! Pop them in a glass jar and put them in the freezer. Pull out to use in recipes whenever one has need! If a recipe calls for seasoned bread crumbs just mix in some Italian seasoning mix and there you have it. Crumbs. Not so useless after all.
